During New Zealand’s innings, Rohit was seen giving clear and firm instructions to Kuldeep Yadav, using hand gestures to explain his plan. Kuldeep responded immediately and dismissed Glenn Phillips.

Phillips pushed forward but edged the ball thickly, and Shreyas Iyer completed a simple catch at cover. Phillips was dismissed for 12 runs off 19 balls, giving Kuldeep his first wicket of the match. The breakthrough came around the 33.2-over mark, with New Zealand at 170/4.

He then scored 57, 14, and 75 in the ODI series against South Africa. Rohit also impressed on his domestic return, smashing 155 for Mumbai against Sikkim in the Vijay Hazare Trophy.

Kuldeep Yadav Picks Up One Wicket During New Zealand Innings in Vadodara

Kuldeep Yadav bowled 9 overs and picked up the wicket of Glenn Phillips. He conceded 52 runs and finished with an economy rate of 5.78.

For New Zealand, Daryl Mitchell led the scoring with 84 runs off 71 balls, hitting three sixes and five boundaries. Openers Devon Conway and Henry Nicholls also scored half-centuries, adding 117 runs for the first wicket.

Mohammed Siraj, Harshit Rana, and Prasidh Krishna picked up two wickets each. India entered the series after winning their previous ODI series 2-1 against South Africa and have not lost a home ODI series to New Zealand since 1988. New Zealand arrived after completing three straight clean sweeps in ODIs.
