Indian skipper Rohit Sharma recently opened up about his team’s approach in the upcoming edition of the ODI World Cup, which is scheduled to be played at home later this year. Rohit Sharma said that the players will give more than 100 percent to win the mega tournament.

India will host the 13th edition of the ODI World Cup between October and November. The Men in Blue will start as favourites to win the title in the marquee event, as the hosts lifted the trophy in the last three editions, including India’s triumph in 2011 under MS Dhoni.

Will Try Our Best Like Any Other Year – Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma is expanding his famous cricket academy, ‘Crickingdom,’ to the United States. Apart from discussing the academy, Rohit also talked about India’s preparations for the upcoming World Cup.

“ICC tournaments are the ones you need to win. Yeah, hopefully we will try our best like any other year to have the best chance to win the Trophy for India,” Rohit Sharma said.

The 36-year-old was last seen in action during the first ODI against the West Indies in the recently concluded three-match series. He was rested for the remaining two games. Vice-captain Hardik Pandya led the team to a series victory with a margin of 2-1.

India is currently facing off against the West Indies in the five-match T20I series. The visitors suffered a narrow 4-run defeat in the series opener while chasing a target of 150 runs. The team will aim to bounce back in the second match to keep the series alive.

Following the T20I series against the Windies, the Indian cricket team will play a three-match T20I series against Ireland. The selectors have named a second-string side, with senior players being rested ahead of the Asia Cup 2023, set to begin on August 30.
