The Women’s Hundred has born the brunt of the bad weather in its first week, but there have still been plenty of England stars in action.
Welsh Fire currently sit at the top of the table, with Southern Brave not far behind. After a successful Ashes series and with just over a year until the next T20 World Cup, here are how those on England radar have fared so far.
Nat Sciver-Brunt
Fresh from her back-to-back hundreds against Australia in the Ashes ODIs, Sciver-Brunt looked in imperious form in her first Hundred innings of the season. She scored 49 off 31 balls in an ultimately unsuccessful chase, top scoring before falling to Anya Shrubsole.
Danni Wyatt
Wyatt has the second-highest score in the tournament so far with her 67 against the Welsh Fire. At 181, she also has the highest strike rate of anyone with more than 11 runs in the competition.
Maia Bouchier
Two scores of 31 sandwich a score of nine for Bouchier. She’s formed part of a strong top order for Brave coming in behind Wyatt and Smriti Mandhana.
Alice Davidson-Richards
Davidson-Richards’ success so far has come mainly with the ball. Against Birmingham Phoenix, she dismissed Amy Jones and Sophie Devine during her 3-20, and scored 11 not out to guide Northern Superchargers home.
Kate Cross
A couple of wickets for Cross in her first two games of the season. They were important scalps too, Eve Jones in her first game and Wyatt in her second.
Sophia Dunkley
One innings so far for Dunkley. She scored 28 off 21 balls batting at three in an innings where four players recorded ducks and only two got into double figures.
Lauren Winfield-Hill
Winfield-Hill was the only player to score more than five for the Oval Invincibles against Welsh Fire as they were bowled out for 80. She made over half their runs with 42 off 35 balls and was the final wicket to fall from the 98th ball of the innings.
Amy Jones
Jones has had a quiet start to the tournament, mirroring Birmingham Phoenix winless record so far. She scored 13 and seven but has been sound as ever with the gloves.
Issy Wong
After an Ashes series spent carrying the drinks for England, Wong has bowled just ten balls across her first two matches for Birmingham Phoenix. She has picked up a wicket, trapping Jemimah Rodrigues lbw.
Freya Kemp
Kemp spent last winter recovering from a stress fracture in her back that ruled her out of England’s T20 World Cup campaign. She is yet to bowl a ball in the competition for Southern Brave and has registered three single-figure scores with the bat.
Tammy Beaumont
The Welsh Fire captain started with 26 off 17 balls against Southern Brave as part of an 80-run opening partnership off just 44 with Haley Matthews. However, she fell first ball next match as Marizanne Kapp and Dane van Niekerk teaming up as bowler and catcher.
Lauren Bell
Bell was rested from the first round to manage her workload after she played a part in all of England’s Ashes matches. She took 1-14 in her opening game, castling Cross with a slower ball.
Emma Lamb
Lamb fell out of England favour after the Ashes Test match. She made a duck in her only innings so far, falling to a sensational catch by Jones off the first ball of the innings.
Sophie Ecclestone
Ecclestone missed Manchester Originals’ first match but was in imperious form in their next. She took four wickets alongside Fi Morris’ stunning five-for, three of her scalps coming within six balls.
