Litton Das ruled out of Zimbabwe ODI series; Bangladesh name Parvez Hossain Emon as replacement

Litton Das, WI vs BAN

Bangladesh team physiotherapist Bayjedul Islam Khan has confirmed that wicketkeeper-batter Litton Das has been ruled out of the remaining ODIs against Zimbabwe. He said that Litton has not recovered from his hamstring injury, forcing the team management to withdraw him from the ongoing three-match series.

Litton, who missed Bangladesh's 25-run defeat in the first ODI on July 6, will return to Dhaka for rehabilitation ahead of a busy international schedule. The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) has named left-handed batter Parvez Hossain Emon as his replacement for the remaining two matches in Harare on July 9 and 11.

Litton Das Ruled Out of Zimbabwe ODIs Due to Injury

Bangladesh have suffered a major setback after Litton Das was ruled out of the remaining ODIs against Zimbabwe. The visitors trail the three-match series 0-1 after being bowled out for 116 while chasing 142 in the opening match.

Bangladesh team physiotherapist Bayjedul Islam Khan said Litton is still recovering from a hamstring injury and failed his latest fitness test. He confirmed that the team management decided not to risk the experienced batter with two matches remaining in the series.

He said: "Litton had already missed the first ODI and is still not match-fit. He underwent a fitness test today and the outcome was not satisfactory. With back-to-back ODIs coming up, we don't think he will make sufficient progress to play any part in the series."

Parvez Hossain Emon Replaces Litton Das in Bangladesh Squad

Left-handed opener Parvez Hossain Emon has joined the Bangladesh squad for the remaining two ODIs. The team management hopes he can strengthen the batting unit after its poor display in the first match at Harare Sports Club.

Bangladesh struggled badly in the opening ODI, with only three batters reaching double figures during the chase. The team will now look for a better batting performance to level the series in the second ODI.

The management is also focused on Litton's long-term fitness ahead of upcoming series against Australia, South Africa, and India. The wicketkeeper-batter is also expected to miss the T20I series against Zimbabwe.

Bangladesh Look to Bounce Back After Disappointing Start

Litton Das arrived in Zimbabwe after a good ODI series against Australia. He played an important role in Bangladesh's 2-1 series win and scored an unbeaten 58 in the third ODI at Mirpur.

The injury has affected Litton throughout the tour. He was initially selected for the one-off Test against Zimbabwe but withdrew before the match, with Mahidul Islam Ankon replacing him in the squad.

Bangladesh have struggled in both the Test and ODI formats on this tour. They lost the one-off Test by an innings and 85 runs before suffering a 25-run defeat in the opening ODI.
