The India National Cricket Team has reclaimed the No.1 spot in the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings after their clinical win over Zimbabwe in the second of the three-match T20I series on Saturday, July 25.
Through the win, the Indian cricket team claimed the series and reclaimed the top spot in the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings, surpassing England. Ahead of the India vs Zimbabwe T20I, the England National Cricket Team were the table toppers in the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings for their dominant performance against India in the shortest format of the game.
England ensured India suffered a clean sweep in a T20I series
England defeated India 4-0 in a five-match T20I series. Team India was in decline at the beginning of a new T20I cycle, following their victory in the 2026 T20 World Cup. The team management made a few changes, including removing Suryakumar Yadav from the leadership role and appointing Shreyas Iyer as the new leader of the team.
Iyer-led Men in Blue endured six defeats before claiming their first win. England handed India four defeats after Ireland put the Men in Blue on the floor in two games. Because of India's poor form and England's domination under the leadership of Harry Brook, England became the new No.1 in the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings after the India vs England T20I series.
The gap between the top-ranked teams in the ICC Men's T20I Team Rankings is not massive
Shreyas Iyer and his team went down to the number two spot. However, as the point difference between the number one and number two team in the rankings was not massive, the 2026 T20 World Cup winners needed only a couple of victories to reclaim the throne. India, with 268 points, is the current No.1 in the ICC rankings for the T20I teams.

Australia, with 260 points, is sitting in the third spot; New Zealand, the fourth team in the rankings, has 247 points.
Last night, Zimbabwe won the second match of the ongoing series by 90 runs as they got only 129 in response to India's 219. Ishan Kishan was named the Player of the Match for his 81-run knock from 44 balls, powered by nine 4s and a couple of 6s. Tilak Varma also played well, scoring an unbeaten 60 off 29 balls with five 4s and three 6s.
Emerging Indian pacers were impressive again against Zimbabwe
The emerging bowlers of the team impressed again, especially the pacers. Mayank Yadav, the speed merchant, who made a comeback in the Ongoing series opener, did not allow the Zimbabwe batters to score runs in the second game. In the second game, Yash Thakur claimed a brace for the team on his debut T20I match.
