Rishabh Pant, 2 more India stars hit by severe HEALTH ISSUES before T20 World Cup 2026

Rishabh Pant

The third consecutive T20I victory came with some injury updates on Rishabh Pant and others last night (January 25). On Monday, at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati, Team India claimed the match as well as the series against New Zealand by winning three matches in a row.

While Team India and the fans were celebrating the moment, multiple injury updates have arrived, which could have affected multiple state teams ahead of their fixtures for the ongoing Ranji Trophy 2025-26 season.

Multiple team India stars, including Rishabh Pant dealing with injury concerns

It was reported that, along with Rishabh Pant, star players like Yashasvi Jaiswal and Shradul Thakur are still dealing with their injuries or health issues. These three-star players are currently unlikely to play in the upcoming Ranji Trophy round for their respective state teams.

According to the report published by the Times of India, Thakur is recovering from a calf injury that he picked up during a Vijay Hazare Trophy match, while Rishabh Pant has been in Bengaluru, at the BCCI's Centre of Excellence (CoE) for a recovery process. The keeper-batter strained his side before the India vs. New Zealand 1st ODI match. Since then, Rishabh Pant has remained out of the action.

Star players who are dealing with injuries ahead of the Mumbai vs Delhi Ranji Trophy match

While Thakur and Pant are recovering from their injury issues, Jaiswal has a health problem, as it was reported. A few weeks ago, the opener had to be admitted to a hospital due to food poisoning. He had to undergo an endoscopy and is still not completely fit. As of now, along with Shardul Thakur and Rishabh Pant, the comeback of Yashasvi Jaiswal is full of uncertainty.

"It’s a problem that has persisted with him (Jaiswal) since he was hospitalized after Mumbai’s last game in the Syed Mushtaq Ali T20 Trophy in Pune, where he was afflicted by a severe bout of food poisoning," the report claims, quoting a source.

The cricket team of Mumbai has to deal with another injury setback, the injury of Aakash Parkar. While Parkar is not going to play Mumbai's next fixture, the return of the prominent spinner Sams Mulani will definitely give the team some moral boost.

For the next Ranji Trophy match, Mumbai will face Delhi on January 29 at the MCA Cricket Ground in Mumbai. In their last match against Hyderabad, Sarfaraz Khan was the hero of the match for scoring a belligerent 227-run knock.

Team is all set for their next encounter despite injuries

"There are two changes in the side for the match versus Delhi. Shams Mulani replaces Atharva Ankolekar, while D Suryansh Shedge has replaced Aakash Parkar. We’ve recalled Shedge because he has performed consistently well for the Mumbai Under-23 team," he further claimed.

Mumbai squad: Siddhesh Lad (C), Musheer Khan, Sairaj Patil, Akhil Herwadkar, Hardik Tampore (WK), Suved Parkar, Sarfaraz Khan, Aakash Anand (WK), Suryansh Shedge, Shams Mulani, Tushar Deshpande, Himanshu Singh, Mohit Avasthi, Omkar Tarmale, Sylvester D’Souza.
