Smriti Mandhana 's wedding cancelled? Cricketer confirms with first appearance since engagement postponement

The marriage cancellation of Indian cricketer Smriti Mandhana and singer-composer Palash Muchhal has taken a new turn following some fresh allegations made by actor-producer Vidnyan Mane. Mane claimed that Muchhal was caught red-handed with another person in bed during the marriage ceremony. After which, the program got cancelled with valid reasons. Mane also accused the entire Muchhal family of financial misconduct.

Smriti Mandhana’s wedding with Palash Muchhal was scheduled a few days after the Women’s World Cup 2025, where India emerged as the champion. They were all set to tie the knot on November 23, 2025. But the situation started to change drastically.

Smriti Mandhana-Palash Muchhal's wedding cancelled almost a month later

It was first reported that because of Smriti Mandhana’s father’s medical conditions, the marriage ceremony had been postponed. Later, it was said that the Palaash needed to take medical support. After which, it was informed that the marriage was postponed before being officially called off in December 2025.

With the news of Smriti Mandhana’s marriage cancellation, netizens were in utter disbelief. Many started to accuse Palaash of all the incidents. Though what really happened behind the scenes is still an unsolved case for the netizens.

Now, Vidnyan Mane’s explanation has taken the speculations to a new level, as he claims that Palaash was caught red-handed with another woman in bed.

'Palash Muchhal beaten up by the Indian female cricketers'

“I was at the wedding celebrations (November 23, 2025) when he was caught red-handed with another woman in bed. Bhayanak scene tha; he was beaten up by the Indian female cricketers. The entire family is chindi chor. I thought he’d get married and settle in Sangli, but it has completely backfired on me,” he said during an interview with the Hindustan Times.

Mane also labelled the Muchhal family as cheaters. He said that through the Smriti Mandhana's family, he got in touch with the Muchhal family for a film project. But later, what happened forced the actor-producer to file a complaint.

“When I met his mother (Amita Muchhal) last month, she said the budget to release the movie has now increased to ₹1.5 crore. They asked me to invest another Rs 10 lakh, or I wouldn’t get any money back. They started blackmailing me and threatened to throw me out of the film; thus, I was forced to file a complaint,” Mane added.

Palash Muchhal replied on Instagram

Though the allegations made by Vidnyan Mane were denied by Muchhal via an Instagram story. Through the social media story, Muchhal said that what Mane claimed was ‘entirely baseless and factually incorrect”, for which they are going to deal with the matter with appropriate legal steps.

“In light of the allegations made by Sangli-based Vidnyan Mane on social media, I wish to state that these claims against me are entirely baseless and factually incorrect. They have been made with malicious intent to tarnish my reputation, and they will not go unchallenged. My lawyer, Shreyansh Mithare, is exploring all legal avenues, and this matter will be dealt with strictly through the appropriate legal channels,” Muchhal wrote on an Instagram story.
