Young Mumbai batter Angkrish Raghuvanshi was discharged from the hospital after undergoing medical checks following an on-field injury during the Vijay Hazare Trophy match against Uttarakhand. Raghuvanshi, who plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL, was hospitalized after suffering a concussion.
The injury took place during the Uttarakhand innings in Jaipur on Friday, December 26. Saurabh Rawat miscued a slog-sweep off Tanush Kotian, and the ball flew toward deep mid-wicket. Raghuvanshi attempted a diving catch near the boundary but hit his head on the ground, taking a blow just below the neck.

There was a short delay in arranging the stretcher and ambulance. Raghuvanshi looked uncomfortable and struggled to move his neck, which raised concern among those present at the ground.
He was then taken to a nearby hospital for scans and further checks. Doctors later confirmed that the 19-year-old had suffered a concussion, but all reports were clear.
According to a mykhel.com report, Raghuvanshi was discharged from the hospital and is now doing well. His recovery has brought relief to the Mumbai camp and to fans of the Kolkata Knight Riders, as he is part of the IPL side’s squad.

Raghuvanshi scored 11 runs from 20 balls in the match as Mumbai finished with 331/7. His injury came during a fielding effort, but doctors later confirmed that he is recovering well.
Rohit Sharma, who had begun the tournament with an unbeaten 155, failed to make an impact in this game and was dismissed for a duck.
Mumbai rebuilt their innings through strong middle-order contributions. Musheer Khan scored 55 off 56 balls, while Sarfaraz Khan made 55 off 49 deliveries. Wicketkeeper-batter Hardik Tamore finished the innings with an unbeaten 93 off 82 balls.
Angkrish Raghuvanshi’s Rise Through Age-Group, Domestic, and IPL Cricket
Angkrish Raghuvanshi represented India at the 2022 ICC Under-19 World Cup, where he finished as the team’s highest run-scorer. He shifted to Mumbai at the age of 11 to pursue serious cricket training under Abhishek Nayar and Omkar Salvi and later settled there permanently.
The young batter made his T20 debut for Mumbai in October 2023, followed by his List A debut the next month. Raghuvanshi secured an IPL contract with the Kolkata Knight Riders after being picked for INR 20 lakhs at the 2024 auction. He went on to be part of KKR’s title-winning campaign in 2024.
His father, Avneesh, is a former tennis player, while his mother, Malika, played basketball. KKR have retained him for the 2026 season, and he is expected to get more opportunities in the upcoming tournament.
