The India National Cricket Team has suffered a major setback as star all-rounder Hardik Pandya will miss the upcoming three-match ODI series against Australia, starting October 19 in Perth. Hardik Pandya already missed the Asia Cup 2025 final that India won by five wickets against Pakistan.
Hardik suffered a left quadriceps injury during India’s last Super Four clash against Sri Lanka at the Asia Cup 2025, forcing him to sit out the thrilling yet controversial final against Pakistan. The injury is serious, and the star all-rounder has reportedly been advised at least four weeks of rest.
India hit hard as Hardik Pandya is sidelined for the Australia ODIs
This ruled Pandya out of the upcoming three-match ODI series in Australia. However, there is still a chance that the star all-rounder could return for the five-match T20I series against Australia, starting October 29 in Hobart, only if he manages to attain full fitness in time.

His absence affects India’s team balance, as Pandya plays a key role in both batting and bowling. The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is expected to issue an official statement soon regarding Pandya’s injury and the squad for the upcoming white-ball tour of Australia.
