India takes on Sri Lanka in the third ODI in Colombo on Wednesday with an eye to level the series. This has been an eventful series so far with the first ODI ending in a tie and Sri Lanka dramatically winning the second ODI.

Sri Lanka posted 240 batting first with Avishka Fernando and Kamindu Mendis scoring 40 each. In between, Dunith Wellalage scored 39 off 35 balls and added a crucial 72-run stand for the second wicket. Skipper Charith Asalanka scored a crucial 25.

Jeffrey Vandersay then weaved his magic as he took a six-fer to stun India's top-order. He took six out of the first seven wickets to derail India's chase. Charith Asalanka then took two after his crucial 25 with the bat.

The hosts fought till the end in the first ODI and did the same in the second ODI as well to win the match by 32 runs as India were bowled out for 208 chasing 241.

It was the first defeat for India under Gautam Gambhir after The Men in Blue won the T20I series and tied the first ODI. The tuning track got the better of the Indian batters in back-to-back games. Rohit Sharma (64) and Shubman Gill (35) added a 97-run stand but the slide started for India after the partnership was broken by Vandersay.
