While Reddy might not have intended to disrespect the former India skipper, his comment could leave many disappointed. In a video that has gone viral on social media, the young allrounder said that while Dhoni has the talent, he lacks technique.

"Dhoni has talent, in the sense that.... talent is there but the technique is not there. Dhoni doesn't have Virat Kohli's range of techniques," Reddy said in a Bhaje Vaayu Vegham movie promotion.

"MS Dhoni's batting techniques is not par with Virat Kohli, but he is a legend because he knows his strengths and game play. That's why he became a champion," he said in another video.

Meanwhile, Reddy recently opened up on his preparations for IPL 2024. The youngster stated that he had not set any goals for him, saying:

"To be honest, I personally don't have any personal goals like I had to score this many runs or to maintain this much strike rate and all that. I used to think that I might get the opportunity in finishing role. So I practiced for that in net sessions and in the off-season as well.

"I practiced my downswing as well and power hitting, you name it. So that's what I went through my preparations. I never looked into personal goals of scoring this many runs or that many, just wanted to prepare according to the role in which the team needs me," he added while speaking to India TV.
