Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) star spinner Karn Sharma avoided a deadly collision with Mahipal Lomror as he grabbed an absolute blinder to dismiss Delhi Capitals (DC) batter Shai Hope in the 62nd game of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Sunday, May 12.

DC batsman Shai Hope tried to stabilize the innings after the top-order collapse and he to some extent was successful. Hope made sure that he spent some time in the middle and played some good strokes. He hit boundaries from time to time and scored 29 runs off 23 balls, with 4 fours, before being dismissed in the 10th over.

On the third ball of the 10th over, express pacer Lockie Ferguson bowled a slower full toss to Hope and the batsman tried to hit it for a boundary.

Shai Hope wasn't able to make a good connection and the ball went towards deep mid-wicket. It looked like the ball would land in no man's land but Karn Sharma came in sprinting to his left before pulling off a well-timed slide to pluck the ball out of thin air. As he pulled off a screamer, he made sure to avoid a nasty collision with Mahipal Lomror, who came running from long on.

Speaking after the match, pacer Lockie Ferguson, who dismissed Hope, said that they have been working really hard behind the scenes and have enjoyed their game despite not winning many matches. Lockie Ferguson elaborated:

"We’ve all been working really hard throughout the tournament. Even when we were losing, it was all very even, we were still enjoying ourselves, we knew that things would go right soon. The batters did extremely well, it was gripping a bit more than normal. Looking forward to a few days off and then taking on Chennai. Can be challenging bowling here, been great working with Griffith (bowling coach). Makes it easy when we take wickets throughout."
