Well, cricket fans around the world, especially CSK fans, eagerly await one particular spectacle in the ongoing IPL 2024 whenever the Yellow Army is on the field, and that is an MS Dhoni batting display. And Jadeja tried to play with the Chepauk fans’ emotions in a very funny way.

Since no one knows which season or which game will be the 42-year-old legend’s last appearance on the field, fans want to cherish every moment MSD graces the field, especially when he steps up to bat, offering a glimpse of his vintage form.

In the CSK vs KKR game, the iconic Chepauk stadium witnessed such a moment when Jadeja playfully decided to steal the spotlight before 'Thala' Dhoni came out to bat amidst the roaring applause.

In the viral video, Ravindra Jadeja can be seen coming out to bat after the dismissal of Shivam Dube in the 17th over of the match against KKR at the MA Chidambaram Stadium.

CSK dugout was surprised by Jadeja's act

This unexpected move surprised some members of the CSK dugout, while the crowd, eagerly waiting for Dhoni's turn to bat, expressed their disappointment. However, the CSK allrounder couldn't hold his amusement and was seen laughing as he turned back towards the pavilion, leaving those in the CSK dugout amused.

Amidst thunderous cheers from the Chepauk crowd, Dhoni stepped onto the field as CSK needed only three runs to win the match against KKR. However, contrary to the fans' expectations, despite the opportunity to score the winning run himself, Dhoni decided to let captain Ruturaj Gaikwad (67* off 58 balls) finish the run chase in style.

Earlier in the match, Jadeja turned out to be a hero for CSK, as his three-wicket haul helped the defending champions restrict KKR to a paltry 137/9 in their quota of 20 overs. Apart from Jadeja, Tushar Deshpande (3/33) and Mustafizur Rahman (2/22) also contributed well with the ball against KKR.

Chasing 138 for the win at Chepauk, the Chennai skipper Gaikwad single-handedly helped the side to their third win in the ongoing IPL 2024 with a crafty fifty. On the other hand, Daryl Mitchell (25) and Shivam Dube (28) also played their roles in CSK’s 7-wicket win over KKR in Chennai on Monday.

Notably, standing in the 4th spot in the IPL 2024 points table, the defending champions CSK will next face the Hardik Pandya-led Mumbai Indians (MI) on April 14 at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.
