The premier India National Cricket Team and Mumbai Indians (MI) pacer, Jasprit Bumrah, once again showed why he is regarded as one of the best pace bowlers in the history of Indian cricket.

Jasprit Bumrah was breathing fire in the 25th match of the Indian Premier League 2024 (IPL 2024) against Faf du Plessis-led Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) on Thursday, April 11, at the iconic Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai.

As Mumbai Indians won the toss and chose to bowl first in the match, Jasprit Bumrah made sure that he provided his side with a great start by dismissing the modern-day batting great Virat Kohli, who has been in red-hot form in the ongoing edition of the league. Kohli's dismissal gave Mumbai Indians perfect momentum not to let the opposition team post a huge total on the board.

Jasprit Bumrah wasn't satisfied with just one wicket in the match and he took four more to complete an exceptional five-wicket haul in the match. On two instances, Jasprit Bumrah found himself on the verge of a hat-trick as he dismissed Faf du Plessis and Mahipal Lomror as well as Saurav Chauhan and Vijaykumar Vyshak on back-to-back deliveries. Unfortunately, Jasprit Bumrah wasn't able to bag a hat-trick in the match.

Meanwhile, as the premier pacer completed his 5-wicket haul in the match by dismissing Vijaykumar on the 4th ball of the 19th over, Rohit Sharma ran towards Bumrah to celebrate the wicket. The former Mumbai Indians captain lifted Jasprit Bumrah as the duo shared a heartwarming moment.

One of those days where what I was executing was working - Jasprit Bumrah

During the mid-innings break, Jasprit Bumrah said that he had a good day on the field against Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) as everything he tried worked in his favor perfectly. Jasprit Bumrah said:

"It was a good day. One of those days when what I was executing was working. The wicket looked sticky (early on). Disappointed with my last ball."

Jasprit Bumrah added that he has now become quite an experienced seamer and he just tried to bowl good hard lengths to test the batters. He elaborated:

"When the first over was bowled, I realized the ball was gripping a bit. Wanted to bowl a good hard length. I've been doing this for 11 years, so I'm used to it. What happened at the end was dew set in and it got better to bat on. Don't want to get too high or too low with good and bad days. This game is a great leveler. Want to keep working hard. The wicket did get better. DK played a special knock. Over here, it's tough to stop someone when they get going."
