In Delhi though the conditions are much different. RCB are heading into this game on the back of a loss against Gujarat Giants. Delhi Capitals meanwhile have won both their games of the Delhi leg. They are on a five-match winning streak.

Royal Challengers Bangalore Women

Royal Challengers Bangalore led by Smriti Mandhana failed to chase 200 against Gujarat Giants. The loss made something very evident that chasing was going to be difficult in Delhi unlike what it was in Bengaluru. They have finally got the team combination right with different players standing up for the team in different games.

A few players are yet to get an opportunity this season. Kate Cross is one prominent name who is yet to play a match in this year’s WPL. It will be interesting to see if she gets a chance in the next game.

Delhi Capitals Women

The Capitals are led by Meg Lanning who is the top-scorer in the history of the tournament. She is inching closer to 600 WPL runs in her career. In the previous two games, she had won against Mumbai Indians and lost to the UP Warriorz. As a captain, she has read the conditions perfectly and the way she has used her bowlers is commendable.

At the top, she has been a force to reckon with with the bat alongside Shafali Varma. Jemimah Rodrigues performed in the last game as well. Thus the side has jelled well so far this season. However, their narrow loss in the previous game can come back to haunt them, The previous game was also the first time that there was a batting collapse from the Delhi batters.

Pitch Conditions

The pitch at the Arun Jaitley stadium has had a considerably low bounce to what it was in Bengaluru. Shot making especially while chasing has been very difficult. Players are getting dismissed playing across the line with the wickets coming into play. There have been far more bowled dismissals in Delhi than what it was in Bengaluru. Battling first has been the way to go in the first few games and the pattern is expected to remain the same.

Form and fitness

Form-wise batters from both teams are in good form and there are no injury concerns from either team. It will be interesting to see if the teams rotate their players. The selection of the players has been based on their current form and the experience they bring to the side. Kate Cross, the England pacer is yet to play a game this season for RCB Women. Meanwhile, Renuka Singh has been very expensive and has taken just two wickets this season so far.

Tactical Acumen

Lanning is a far more experienced captain than Mandhana. Her leadership has played a very crucial role in her team winning the last five games on the trot. Mandhaha has felt the pressure especially while defending totals and using her spinners. Renuks Singh’s lack of wicket-taking form has added to that pressure.
