Gujarat Giants Women Playing 11 vs RCB Women- WPL 2024, Match 5

Gujarat Giants take on RCB Women on February 27, Monday. The match starts at 7.30 pm IST. Bengaluru hosts the first 11 matches of WPL 2024 after which the caravan moves to Delhi.

Heading into their second match, Gujarat Giants will look to have a better batting effort. They were rolled over against Mumbai Indians, a match where they lost wickets at regular intervals.

They will be led by Beth Mooney who took over as the captain from Sneh Rana. However, she was not able to make an impact with the bat and did not have a total to defend. Heading into the next game, they have some rethinking to do in terms of finding their perfect combination and making the batters bat at the right position.

The side bought the costliest player in Kashvee Gautam for Rs 2 crores. However, she was ruled out of the season due to an injury. The franchise roped in Mumbai’s Sayali Sathgare as a replacement at a reserve price of INR 10 lakhs.

The other names who they signed are Meghna Singh for Rs 30 lakh, Trisha Poojitha for Rs 10 lakh, Priya Mishra for Rs 20 lakh, Lauren Cheatle for Rs 30 lakh, Kathryn Bryce for Rs 10 lakh, Mannat Kashyap for Rs 10 lakh), Veda Krishnamurthy for Rs 30 lakh and Tarannum Pathan for Rs 10 lakh).

The Gujarat Giants finished last in WPL 2023 and did not have the best of starts in 2024. Despite the loss in the first game, the Giants should back the same XI and bat them at the right positions.
