Matheesha Pathirana yet again was the shining light for his team in the Super Four encounter against Bangladesh in the ongoing Asia Cup 2023. The Sri Lanka pacer bowled exceptionally well and won the game for his team in Colombo.
Matheesha Pathirana nailed his yorkers during the fag end of the innings. His slinging action has been coming in handy for Sri Lanka. The pacer removed Shoriful Islam with beauty and sent him packing for 7 runs.
Matheesha Pathirana bowled a full ball from round the wicket that was angling in. Shoriful Islam tried to drive and in the process got a faint outside edge. The ball went in to crash the off and the middle stump.
If this was not enough, Matheesha Pathirana also removed Nasum Ahmed to win the game for his side. The Bangladesh player gave a real scare to the opposition as he struck some blows in the end and brought his side close to the target.
However, Matheesha Pathirana removed him with the pinpoint yorker. The Sri Lanka pacer bowled a similar delivery to Shoriful Islam. But this time he went a bit full and hit the timber to remove the opposition player.
