Nepal captain Rohit Paudel stated that they have plans to tackle veteran Indian batters Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma in their upcoming clash in the Asia Cup 2023. Rohit Paudel said that both Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma have been stars for India over the past decade.
Nepal qualified for the Asia Cup for the first time in their cricket history by beating UAE in the ACC Men’s Premier Cup final in May this year. The Rohit Paudel-led team will take on the Men in Blue at the Pallekele International Cricket Stadium on Monday, September 4.

Speaking ahead of the match against India, Rohit Paudel expressed his excitement about playing against a big team like India on the biggest stage.
“We are excited to play against India. India is a big country. We are all excited to represent Nepal against India on the biggest stage. Virat and Rohit have been the stars for their country for over ten years,” said Paudel.
“We have made plans to tackle them and hopefully, we will execute them tomorrow. On the field, it will be a game that both of us will be wanting to win,” he added.
Virat and Rohit failed to impress in their tournament’s opener against Pakistan at the same venue. The Indian skipper managed to score 11 runs, while the No. 3 batter contributed 4 runs. Left-arm pacer Shaheen Afridi dismissed both batters in the high-octane clash.

The Nepal skipper lauded Virat Kohli as an inspiration for youngsters for his work ethic and his discipline, on and off the field.
“Virat is an inspiration for all of us, not only for his work ethic but also his discipline, on and off the field,” he concluded.
Nepal will face India for the first time in international cricket. They will be hoping to bounce back after losing to Pakistan by 238 runs in their first match of the 2023 Asia Cup. They will advance to the Super Four stage of the tournament if they beat the Rohit Sharma-led team.
