With just less than one month to go before the start of the highly anticipated ODI World Cup 2023, participating nations started their preparations, including travel arrangements. Pakistan will have no visa issues this time to travel to India for the marquee tournament.

According to Cricbuzz, the Pakistan cricket team will depart for India on September 25 through Dubai. The Men in Green will reach Hyderabad on September 27. Pakistan will face the Netherlands in their first game at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on October 6.

The Babar Azam-led team will play two warm-up matches in Hyderabad as part of their preparation for the 10-team tournament. Their first warm-up match will be against New Zealand on September 29. Pakistan will face Australia in their second warm-up game on October 3.

Babar Azam And Shaheen Afridi Invloved In Heated Exchange

According to Pakistani media reports, captain Babar Azam expressed his frustration over the players’ poor performance in the Asia Cup 2023. Babar highlighted the lack of responsibility from certain players in the dressing room following their exit from the continental tournament.

Shaheen Afridi wasn’t impressed with his captain’s remarks and defended the players’ efforts and asked for appreciation for those who performed well. Wicket-keeper batter Mohammad Rizwan had to intervene to end the heated argument between his teammates in the locker room.

Shaheen Afridi took to microblogging platform X (formerly known as Twitter) to express disappointment over Pakistan’s exit from the Asia Cup 2023. However, the left-arm pacer emphasized the team’s fighting spirit and determination.

“Disappointed with how it finished but this is not the end. We never gave up and fought all the way, and this fighting spirit should not go down. There is a bigger challenge coming our way and we will be better prepared for it In shaa’Allah. Pakistan Zindabad,” wrote Shaheen Afridi.

Pakistan’s captain is facing criticism due to a series of below-par performances. He led the team to the semifinals and finals of the last two T20 World Cups but lost both times. They suffered home Test series losses against Australia and England and missed out on the WTC final.
