The 21-year-old India National Cricket Team opening batsman Yashasvi Jaiswal won the Player of the Match award for his sensational performance with the bat in the fourth T20I of the five-match series against West Indies at the Central Broward Regional Park Stadium Turf Ground in Lauderhill on Saturday, August 12.
Yashasvi Jaiswal smashed 84 runs in the match off 51 balls, including 11 fours and 3 sixes. He was also involved in a massive 165 runs partnership with Shubman Gill in just 94 balls. The partnership between the young openers helped India win the match by 9 wickets within 17 overs.
Speaking after winning the Player of the Match award, Yashasvi Jaiswal said that he is delighted to contribute to the team’s success. He added that he tries to properly utilize powerplay by playing an aggressive brand of cricket. He elaborated:
“It’s not easy, I am happy to go out there and perform. I try to play how team needs. I try to score quickly and how many shots I can play in the powerplay. Reading the wicket, reading the situation, everything is important.”

Yashasvi Jaiswal also revealed that picking the deliveries from West Indies pacers Jason Holder and Obed McCoy was easy for him because he has played a lot against them in the Rajasthan Royals nets.
He also lauded his batting partner Shubman Gill for his terrific batting show and said that the partnership between them was amazing.
“I have played a lot of ball against them (Holder and McCoy), helped me to pick them. It (partnership with Gill) was really amazing, he batted really well. I want to thank everyone coming here and supporting us. Thank you so much.”
With the victory in the match, India have leveled the series 2-2 and the series decider will be held on Sunday, August 13 at the same venue.
